Copyvio

[edit]

Hi there. Please don't add copyrighted text you copy from other websites, like you did in Alpbach, or upload photos you don't own the copyright. These are copyright violations, and have to be deleted. andy 14:24, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Violence against Israelis

[edit]

Hi SpaceMonkey, welcome to the project. I noticed the heated exchange of words between you and User:IZAK on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Violence against Israelis. I have recommended to IZAK that he remove the personal attack (if you consent), so the tone of the debate will remain civilised. There is a policy of unilaterally removing invective, but I thought this would be the proper way.

Please do not feel bad about the anti-Semitism accusation. In the (close) past, some rather outspoken folks have been spouting anti-Semitic nonsense on the project, putting everyone on edge. JFW | T@lk 10:21, 3 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Thanks, long forgotten what the arguement was about :) --SpaceMonkey 18:59, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Complaint against IZAK and add your signature under Users certifying the basis for this dispute if you agree with the complaint. Thanks. HistoryBuffEr 08:22, 2004 Oct 5 (UTC)

Assuming that you accidentally put your delete vote on the Talk page, instead of Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/"iPod versus", I've taken the liberty of moving it. JRM 19:02, 2004 Dec 6 (UTC)

Arduinna

[edit]

Hi SpaceMonkey, it seems that we were editing Arduinna at the same time. Do you still think it needs cleanup? For a before and after, see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Arduinna&diff=21979368&oldid=20007454 --Nantonos 20:12, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Minor note on Coulter

[edit]

I noticed your last three changes were each marked "minor". While I agree that the minor editing you did on edits 2 and 3 were minor, it is certainly not minor to add such a lengthy quote as you did. Probably an error, but thought I'd point it out. klenk 08:50, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Although I believe your vote in this deletion discussion in empirically wrong (primarily because a lot of Wikipedians have put a lot of work into making this a worthwhile article, so that the fringe theories contained therein don't have to be presented in the main articles on the topic), I nevertheless feel compelled to notify you that you forgot to sign your vote. -- BD2412 talk 04:57, 8 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
The image you uploaded, Image:Bronte Country.jpg, has no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

This message notification has been automatically sent by NotificationBot managed and run by AllyUnion. Please leave comments regarding bot operations at AllyUnion's talk page. Please direct all comments regarding licensing information at Wikipedia talk:Images for deletion. --NotificationBot 13:16, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

All images in the Bronte Country area are taken by me, I grant use of these images in Wikipedia --SpaceMonkey 14:05, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Keighley070805.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Again, this picture is taken by ME (SpaceMonkey). I release all rigths. Right now, can this be the last of it. All pictures uploaded by me have either the correct copyright status or are taken by me! --SpaceMonkey 15:05, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Oxenhope070805.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Tawker 00:36, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SpaceMonkey, there has been a copyright challenge to the image Image:Bronte_sisters.jpg which you uploaded. Since you did not provide any information about the source of the image, we are not able to verify that the photograph was taken by someone other than the NPG (the party claiming copyright violation). I realize that the painting itself is public domain, but there are circumstances in which photographs of public domain paintings can be copyrighted (which is what the NPG is claiming). If you could provide source information about the image, it will help us address the situation with the NPG. Otherwise we may have to delete the image. Kaldari 18:35, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:LumbFoot.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 18:45, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition of a section ("Attack on war veteran backfires") to this article resulted in a Spectator magazine article alleging that editors of a left-wing persuasion sometimes use Wikipedia to spread unpleasant stories about oponents that have very little biographical importance. Having read your section, I find that rather persuasive. This was picked up in a Daily Telegraph blog and resulted in a request by Jimbo Wales that the paragraph be removed. Perhaps in future, when you write about people you don't like, you should ask yourself whether what you're writing betrays some motive other than improving Wikipedia and whether it really constitutes a minor edit. --188.221.105.68 (talk) 13:29, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File source problem with File:Piecehallexterior050805.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Piecehallexterior050805.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
