Hi, when moving a page, you must always chech for double redirects and fix them. When you complete a move, you will always see the message "click here....". Please always click "there".

I could have done it for SMERSH myself, but I am leaving it "as is" now, so that you could see what I am talking about, if you click at "What links here" in the SMERSH page. Mikkalai 20:28, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hi! Did you mean, that I should have changed all occurences of Smersh (only first letter is capitalized) to SMERSH (all letters are capital) in all these articles? Or did you mean something else? If former, I will gladly do it; if former, please elaborate some more. Thanks.
That's what I suspected. The page Smert' Shpionam is a redirect to Smersh, which is nothing but a redirect to SMERSH. This is called "double redirect". Wikipedia cannot handle them properly. Therefore you must edit Smert' Shpionam so that it would point directly to SMERSH. But be careful: if you click at Smert' Shpionam, wikipedia will actually open Smersh with a comment: (Redirected from Smert' Shpionam). If you click at "Smer't" in the Smersh opened in this way, you will arrive at the page you want to edit.
Double, triple, etc. redirects are recognized by the indent level of bullets in the "What links here" list. Mikkalai 00:54, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I didn't know about WP not being able to handle multiple redirects correctly. Thank you for this information. Where can I find the source of it?
I corrected multiple redirects, I hope I did it right this time.

P.S. How do you edit in Russian on en:WP? It's not easy...

When editing, I "show preview" and replace the #56775... stuff in the edit area with the cyrillic text copied from the preview. Mikkalai 00:54, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)
What a pain... That's what I called "not easy".
Any chances en:WP will use the Unicode?

I would like to express my thanks to all the good people who spent their valuable time time and effort working on my (failed) RfA voting. Especially for those who actually voted to support me :). Lets move on and make together our Wikipedia an even greater place abakharev 09:53, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
