Fair use rationale for Image:Winnersboard.jpg

[edit]

Image:Winnersboard.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

OR and commentary

[edit]

Much of the discussion under the 1983-1989 section of "Staff & broadcast history" is OR and opinionated commentary. How can it be verified that Sally Julian left because of "dissatisfaction with her performance"? There's a great deal of material about the ratings: how the show did in comparison to Child's Play, Press Your Luck, the "dying" $25,000 Pyramid, the "flop" Blackout and the 1988 version of Family Feud on CBS, and the fact that the show lost clearances to syndicated programs on many NBC affiliates. Those two entire paragraphs are completely unsourced. And, as frequently happens in the "Episode Status" section, we get subjective information such as the original version is "believed" to have been wiped (source?) and it's "uncertain" whether the 1973-1974 version has been. This information is out there. The fact that the author of a Wikipedia article doesn't know something does not mean "it is unknown." That's a subjective statement of the limits of the author's information. Somebody knows it, just not the person who's contributing to the article. If the information is not publicly available, it shouldn't be mentioned at all. JTRH (talk) 20:16, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I just noticed that the "episode status" section has been citation-tagged for almost two years. Can anyone do anything to improve it? JTRH (talk) 20:18, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

June 2013 update

[edit]

This article needed serious editing. The broadcast history section was entirely unreferenced and contained large amounts of WP:OPINION. Several details were repeated throughout (taping locations/studio origination, airdates, etc.). Before undoing my most-recent edit or re-adding material, please consider WP:MOS, WP:V, WP:N, WP:TV and other appropriate guidelines. 68.55.123.86 (talk) 01:21, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Per the issues addressed, I have demoted the article to Start-Class, for now. It has the potential, however, to return to B-Class status with some work. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 01:56, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sale of the century models

[edit]

Who is the beautiful blonde model that was on the show from 84 -89..Her first name is Karen as referenced by Jim Perry.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.34.39.174 (talk) 15:29, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Scheduling

[edit]

Scheduling vs. other channels is significant, however it really needs to be backed by third party commentary or other RS, rather than just bald statements of what was scheduled. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 17:43, 11 August 2015 (UTC).[reply]

Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
