References

[edit]

The references appear mostly bunched up to the left, with the right column half empty. Wander why it's doing that. --Green06 (talk) 22:52, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed the problem. Not sure how I did it though. --Green06 (talk) 19:48, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mouse lifespan...

[edit]

To give this entry a little more context, could someone please include information about the regular lifespan of these mice i.e., control results. Paulbmckenzie (talk) 08:24, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Average mouse lifespan is about 1.5 to 2 years! http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/careofmice/a/mousecare.htm 203.56.94.11 (talk) 06:23, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Any controversies?

[edit]

Something in this foundation reeks of scam...

  1. links on the wiki page are overwhelmingly from their own web page (talk about reliable sources)
  2. half of the contestants for their money prizes sit in their scientific advisory board
  3. only thing they present on their web page is donation requests in many many different forms, all for a good cause, all aimed at people who are somehow ill, elderly or otherwise about to die
  4. no research papers, no journal references, no academic content, i.e. no substance

I wonder how much of the money actually goes to the mice or whatever the intended purpose is. I hope I'm wrong. The idea is good, but idealism often... ah well.

nominated for speedy deletion under 'db-g11'

[edit]

Nearly every citation refers back to the Foundations website. This cannot be fixed, this article appears to exist purely for the purposes of self-promotion and advertisement, thus I have nominated it for speedy deletion, --TimL (talk) 18:43, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other languages point to MPrize and not to "Metusaleh foundation"

[edit]

For some reason (deliberate or not) all the other languages point to explaining MousePrize rather than explaining "Metuselah foundation" that one would expect.

Sourcing is terrible

[edit]

If this article were cut back to WP:RSes, it would literally just be the sentence about Thiel money.

Is there any third-party mainstream coverage of the Methuselah Foundation? Anything that passes the notability guidelines? - David Gerard (talk) 21:40, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I extended about Thiel money, and gave some additional external links. I hope it is enough. — Lady3mlnm (talk) 08:36, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The sourcing is indeed... interesting. The section about the prize had an impressive seven references. At a closer look, all of these references had the number 25. At a second closer look I saw that this reference #25 led to an old version of this very article. Seems that this garbage (and more) was put in here with this edit. --217.239.14.233 (talk) 16:14, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
