Uh, by the way, that was me who just gave my sun conure's name, I wasn't logged in. At any rate, thanks for adding your Nanday pic Mceder. Does anybody have a pyrhurra or Patagonian pic they'd be willing to share? --Quintucket 22:52, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Sun Capped Conures / or gold-capped conures (?)

[edit]

Should these be added too? Or do they fall under the same group as the sun conure? I have a picture of a sun capped conure but I don't how to upload it. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g253/alexyasha/family%20stuff/DSCN0938.jpg --KaidenShiba 23:57, jan 8 2008 —Preceding comment was added at 05:57, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blue-crowned Conures

[edit]

it seems this article fails to mention that Blue-crowns are the best talkers among Conures... I could post a picture if y'all think I should? --Kolbeer 16:52, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I would find additional pictures useful. My wife is thinking of obtaining a Conure this year. --Cartan 23 July 2005

The picture of "Peaches" is not very good -- the conure is looking down, away from the camera. Let's get a better sun conure pic... --Ztrawhcs April 24, 2006

Cinnamon Green Cheek pic

[edit]

I do agree that the pic of the Sun Conure doesn't do these birds justice. He's a fine looking bird, as far as I can tell, but viewers can't see his eyes & it's blurry with low resolution. I do have a pic of a Cinnamon Green Cheek Conure that has outstanding resolution and the bird is looking directly at the camera. I'm likely going to swap these two if no objections are heard. Carolina Parakeet

[edit]

Is it possible they aren't extinct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Conureluva13 (talkcontribs) 17:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, it's not. At least not until we perfect the Improbability Drive. But they will always live on in our hearts. --Quintucket (talk) 03:52, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Australian parakeets?

[edit]

I note the use of the term 'Australian parakeets', which links not to 'Parakeets' but to 'Parrots'. The term 'parakeet' is not used in Australia, as far as I know -- I've lived in Australia since I was born in 1953 and have never heard the word except in American media. I suspect it's an exclusively American term, so not appropriate for Wikipedia in this case. I'm not an expert on birds, but an amateur bird fancier, so I might be wrong. I won't change the link because I'm not sufficiently expert in the parrots of the world. Alpheus (talk) 01:50, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Taxonomy needs updating

[edit]

There are several more genera containing conures now, since aratinga was split a few years ago. 146.200.127.203 (talk) 12:07, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I made a taxobox for the conures - is this useful to anyone?

[edit]

"I'll just leave this here", as they say. :)
