This redirect was nominated at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion on 4 August 2023. The result of the discussion was keep B.A., B. A., M.A., M. A.; retarget B.A to BA and M.A to MA. |
Why does this redirect to MA? "M.A." should be a redirect to Master's degree: it's not ambiguous and doesn't need disambiguation. -- Someone else 08:10, 10 Nov 2003 (UTC)
- Even if there usually is a difference, or at least a nuance or a typo between:
- ma
- MA
- Ma
- M.A.
- M. A.
- M. A
- mA
- MA.
- mA.
- it's not necessarily supported by the software nor are many aware of the different usages. Thus I prefer to redirect them to a disambiguation page and note the spelling variatons there (see e.g. MB ). In a few cases, it may be more appropriate:
- to place the article there (e.g. SI with the article on the Système International, pH), or
- to redirect the abbreviation to an article (e.g. TB redirecting to Tuberculosis),
- and place a link to the disambiguation page there.
- (Note: this is just about 2-letter combinations).
- In the meantime, I have changed my mind on MA and M.A. and would rather have them redirect to Master's degree. Similar solutions should be found for B.A., M.D., and possibly a few others. -- User:Docu
- (Note TB no longer redirects to Tuberculosis now) -- User:Docu
