adding apparent official PR language

[edit]

It would really be best not to add extremely vague and unjustifiably glowing PR-pablum like "maintaining peaceful relations with all countries, regardless of their political system", unless as a sourced direct quote from a government official. Some might question how Malaysia can "maintain peaceful relations with all countries, regardless of their political system" when it pursues virulent "hate Israel all the time" policies, which it sometimes carries to absurd extremes... AnonMoos (talk) 23:30, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's almost directly taken from their Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, although I agree its rather amusing how they can say that and then have being related to Israel one of the greatest insults in the country...Chipmunkdavis (talk) 01:24, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
All I'm saying is that if it's a direct quote, then it needs to be within quote marks, and if it's not a direct quote, then it needs to be greatly qualified... AnonMoos (talk) 12:42, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's almost a direct quote, I tried to summarize all the bullet points into a couple sentences. Would it be better to directly quote all the bullets from the source? Chipmunkdavis (talk) 13:06, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Foreign relations of Malaysia

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Foreign relations of Malaysia's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "state.gov":

  • From States and federal territories of Malaysia: "Malaysia". State.gov. 2010-07-14. Retrieved 2010-09-14.
  • From South Africa: "South Africa - Section I. Religious Demography". U.S. Department of State. Retrieved 15 July 2006.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 18:58, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
