Proposed deletion |
Miscellany for deletion (MfD) is a place where Wikipedians decide what should be done with problematic pages in the namespaces which aren't covered by other specialized deletion discussion areas. Items sent here are usually discussed for seven days; then they are either deleted by an administrator or kept, based on community consensus as evident from the discussion, consistent with policy, and with careful judgment of the rough consensus if required.
Filtered versions of the page are available at
Information on the process[edit]
What may be nominated for deletion here:
- Pages not covered by other XFD venues, including pages in these namespaces: Draft:, Help:, Portal:, MediaWiki:, Wikipedia: (including WikiProjects), User:, TimedText: and the various Talk: namespaces
- Userboxes (regardless of namespace)
- Pages in the File namespace that have a local description page but no local file (if there is a local file, Wikipedia:Files for discussion is the right venue)
- Any other page, that is not in article space, where there is dispute as to the correct XfD venue.
Requests to undelete pages deleted after discussion here, and debate whether discussions here have been properly closed, both take place at Wikipedia:Deletion review, in accordance with Wikipedia's undeletion policy.

Unattributed copy of Ahmed Sofa. Created over three years ago with no attempt to work on the content. ✗plicit 11:55, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

- Delete. Per WP:COPIES, it appears a user sandbox like this one might be eligible for immediate {{db-u1}}, to prevent possible attribution issues. I do appreciate the nomination here. BusterD (talk) 12:49, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Delete - This is a low quality copy and a redundant fork. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:51, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Draft:DarkForums[edit]
Unclear if promo aside, page contains admission of a serious crime committed by its author. Fermiboson (talk) 22:04, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ignore per WP:NDRAFT. This mfd gives it more attention than it deserves, or would have received before G13 deletion. SmokeyJoe (talk) 12:57, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia doesn’t censor topics due to providing information on illegal activities, however maybe this should be deleted per WP:NOTPROMOTION. The page provides their official Discord and Telegram Channel Links, and no links to independent sources. SmokeyJoe (talk) 23:43, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
- Weak Delete - Whether this nomination was unwise because of a Streisand effect is a discussion of the past. We are already here. At this point we should delete this draft so that Wikipedia draft space is not providing publicity about illegal activities. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:57, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
User:UBX/Juve Merda[edit]
This was nominated at the wrong venue (TFD). This is a procedural nomination on my part and I express no opinion on the merits. The original nominating statement is:
Offensive against Juventus Football Club, "merda" in Italian is a vulgar word equivalent to "shit"Qwerty 9706 (talk) 11:35, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Note that, somewhat confusingly, Qwerty 9706 is the TfD nom. Nickps (talk) 18:38, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

- Would renaming the template be a viable option? Something like "No Juve"? The Banner talk 21:48, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. We might want to ask @SignedInteger for an opinion on the name, since they are apparently the only person that uses this. Nickps (talk) 22:01, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- I am aware of its name but admittedly I was searching for something more humorous because, as my page says: "Some of the contents of this user page are not meant to be taken seriously, but I'm sure you already knew that." I do think renaming it would work because I am only using it as a humorous userbox and not out of actual ill intent against Juventus or Juventus fans. SignedInteger (talk) 22:06, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Also I noticed my page has this notice on it now: "This user page is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy.
- Please discuss the matter at this page's entry on the Miscellany for deletion page.
- You are welcome to edit this page, but please do not blank, merge, or move it, or remove this notice, while the discussion is in progress. For more information, see the
- Guide to deletion
- ."
- I have no clue why this appeared and checking the edit history of my page shows nobody added it so I think it may be a bug. SignedInteger (talk) 22:08, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, that appeared because of a mistake with tagging the userbox. It should be fixed now. Nickps (talk) 22:22, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

- Delete. No hate in userboxes.—Alalch E. 22:01, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Why delete though? Can't that be resolved through rewording, like in Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Template:User hate CCP? Nickps (talk) 22:05, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- I'll let someone else do the rewording, I'm sticking with 'delete'.—Alalch E. 22:14, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

User:DPaulinovevo/sandbox[edit]
This editor was only active for a brief period in 2012, spent almost all of his time creating this sandbox for a tour by a non-notable subject, and then disappeared. Delete per WP:NOTWEBHOST. BD2412 T 20:41, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- Before My Eyes World Tour
- They wrote Diogo Paulino. What are their other deleted edits?
- Why not blank with {{Userpage blanked}}? I don’t see any BLP or COPYVIO problems.
- Why not move to draftspace, Draft:Before My Eyes World Tour and give it the usually time and chance for rescue and indefinite easy REFUND?
- Deleting old inactive users’ userpages and edit history because they’ll never return is a self-fulfilling professy. SmokeyJoe (talk) 23:17, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- @SmokeyJoe: After further investigation, it turns out that they created identical sandboxes under two usernames. I have just nominated the other one. In any case, after twelve years of absence, I think "they'll never return" is more of an observation than a prophecy. In addition to the apparent autobiography, they also created The Fashion World Tour (Created page with 'The Fashion World Tour is the fourth concert tour by Diogo Paulino.'); Run Before My Eyes Ep (Created page with 'Run Before My Eyes Ep is the 2nd Ep by the north american singer, Diogo Paulino!'), and 2.0.1.2. (two thousand and twelve) (This is the fifth studio album by the singer Dpaulino!). BD2412 T 00:04, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Delete: WP:SPA self promotion. And per nom. SmokeyJoe (talk) 01:55, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

- User:Joe Roe, why did you do that?
- I think the default action should be to redirect all subpages of Wikipedia:WikiProject Colonialism to Wikipedia:WikiProject Colonialism. That is, archive all subpages as redirects to the redirect. Is there a reason not to? SmokeyJoe (talk) 11:06, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- There was a consensus to do so at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject History#Merge inactive history WikiProjects. Sorry, I forgot to add an edit summary. I've no objection to redirecting all the subpages. I retained some because the might be of historical interest and others because they have no incoming links anyway so it didn't seem worth the hassle. – Joe (talk) 11:18, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. By default, I think it’s better to preserve history of anything ever used, unless it should never have been created. However, if someone, especially someone from the WikiProject, has a rationale for deleting over archiving (history behind redirects), then I have no objection to deletion. I think wikiarchiology is a good thing to be allowed to happen, and that deletion requests should give at least lip service to why archiving is not a good idea. SmokeyJoe (talk) 11:24, 7 July 2024 (UTC)

- Keep for historical purposes. This userbox is displayed on the user pages of a few users who are no longer active and therefore unlikely to replace it now that the wikiproject no longer exists. Keeping it serves to preserve their user page as it was and to help anyone who happens to come across them find out where the former WikiProject Colonialism now resides (via the redirect to WikiProject History). – Joe (talk) 11:22, 7 July 2024 (UTC)

- Contention 1: Talk:2023 Atlantic hurricane season/ACE calcs still exists. Talk:2022 Atlantic hurricane season/ACE calcs still exists.
- Contention 2: The discussion was closed by LightandDark2000 back in 2020, which reads:
Although there is some dispute as to how this should be done, it appears that the consensus is to use the figures from a trusted source. However, our ACE calculations can also be used as placeholders in lieu of more reliable figures.
- As far as I can tell, we.. never figured out how exactly we're supposed to go about this. (Not that I knew that this was a discussion that was had until today, but that's my own fault.) We as a WikiProject (myself included from time to time) continue to update the operational portion of 2024/ACE. I do not know entirely why. I do not know entirely how. At this point, not entirely sure what deleting 2024 would be worth unless we nuked... everything. ~ AC5230 talk 06:18, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
