Hmmm. I just went to the Australian Art Gallery in Sydney yesterday, and most of the paintings are in there. I should see if I can get some info on him from there. - Ta bu shi da yu 05:33, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Prices

[edit]

This section contradicts itself: How can Settler's Camp be the record price for his painting at $800k "remaining the record price for his work" if Golden Summer was bought in the 80s for $3.5 million? Cfitzart 01:45, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

One was a private sale, one was at auction. Geoff/Gsl 02:22, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sydney? England? Venice?

[edit]

This article is a good start on one of Australia's greatest painters, but I feel its bias towards Melbourne doesn't give Streeton's whole life justice. Why is there no mention of the artist's camps at Sirius Cove, and the years Streeton spent painting Sydney Harbour and areas around Western Sydney? And there is only 1 small paragraph on his 13 years in England in the 1900's - and no reference at all to the 6 months he spent in Venice and the gorgeous paintings he created there. But, as nobody outside Australia has heard of Arthur Streeton, I guess its good that there is something here on him. —The preceding comment was added by Ozzy marco (talkcontribs) 21:35, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

You obviously know what you're on about, so I'd encourage you to add this information. That's what Wikipedia is all about ;) As for being a little Melbourne-centric, its probably the by-product of an article about the Heidelberg School. There's even a street named after him in Yallambie, just north of Heidelberg! If anyone else is perusing this, I need some help with reverts... would seem some errant school children have been dabbling here instead of the sandbox... Proberton 11:36, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
