Kufr

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kufr (Arabic: كُفْر), or atheism in Islam, is a pejorative term meaning rejection or disbelief in God, as defined in Islam.[1][2] It can refer to denial, refusal to accept the dominion and authority of God, or otherwise not heeding the beliefs and prescriptions held by the religion of Islam.[3] The 'unbelief' is called kufr, while the 'unbeliever' is called a Kafir.
