Israel

[edit]

From main page, under holidays:

  • Israel - Tisha B'Av, this is not a holiday, but many stores and most restaurants close

Tisha b'Av is the ninth day of the month of Av in the Hebrew Calendar--it doesn't fall on the same Gregorian day every year. (I assume someone meant "not a legal holiday", but that's an easy fix if the entry belongs at all.) Vicki Rosenzweig

Protection?

[edit]

Would anyone object to a temporary protection? Looking through the recent history this past month, I see a lot of good reverts. Maybe semi-protecting for a while would keep the history clean. Justin(c)(u) 03:51, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I love semi-protection, but I don't think the level of activity on this article is any different from many others. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 03:57, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, comparative activity isn't really important, but overall activity shows a lot of... activity (I don't want to call each one vandalism, just misguided efforts). Justin(c)(u) 04:26, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This article has had less than 50 edits in the last month. If you look at an article like January 23 there were 50 edits in the last week. (I'm not arguing, by the way - just trying to understand why you would think to protect this one and not others) -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 04:34, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'm watching this one :) I guess the article wouldn't fall apart if we had to keep reverting. Justin(c)(u) 04:36, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Births and deaths

[edit]

In accordance with the guidelines, I've started weeding the Births and Deaths sections by removing entries for celebrities with 0-4 articles in other languages. Where possible, these have been transferred to the relevant Year in Topic articles. As well as making the lists more manageable, this will help with the globalization effort. Deb (talk) 21:36, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the "Births" entry for Robert Hooke as he was not born on the 28th of July, but rather the 18th. Snooze Dogg (talk) 16:46, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Are future events allowed?

On 2061, Halley's comet will pass by. Until someone clarifies this, I am accepting the edit. L3X1 Complaints Desk 17:48, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
