The result was merge into Template:Enderseries. There seems to be little issue with this merge. -- --ARTEST4ECHO (talk/contribs) 13:30, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the following templates can (and should) be merged.

  1. Template:EnderThings
  2. Template:EnderCharacters
  3. Template:OrsonScottCardEnderShortStories

Those templates have the same information as this one. They are also missing useful information that is included in this template.--ARTEST4ECHO (talk/contribs) 21:32, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing the EnderThings template

[edit]

Moved from Wikipedia:Village pump (assistance). Neutralitytalk 22:46, Dec 24, 2004 (UTC)

I'm trying to fix the EnderThings template, as shown below: {{enderThings}} so that the last link (Stark) links directly to Stark (Ender's Game) instead of the Stark disambiguation page, as it currently does. Can anyone help?

Bbhtryoink 03:57, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • Seems to be done. To do it yourself, use piped links like you did with the template in your request. Mgm|(talk) 13:04, Dec 22, 2004 (UTC)

No ansible

[edit]

I took out the link to ansible -- see talk:ansible for why. Short version: the ansible article is about the generic concept, not Card's specifically; thus we don't want the enderbox there; thus it should not link there.

Slim version

[edit]

Re: Aris Katsaris's page history comment: I'm sorry, but I think that looked rather ugly -- you have the headings properly aligned with the table, but the table contents itself are centered. Turning back. We needn't be that stingy with space.)

Why not simply uncenter the table contents, then? I kind of like the slimmer version myself. It fits the same amount of information into a smaller space, five lines instead of eight. Being stingy with space is a good thing, so long as you're not stingy with information. • Benc • 21:15, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I tend to agree with Benc, the reason I made the slimmer version was to remove the 3 extra heading lines while maintaining the information. THe slim version also makes the information more accessible to the quickly-scanning eye, because it does not contain excessive negative space. siroχo 22:01, Aug 21, 2004 (UTC)

I wasn't that certain whether it'd look any better -- it's not just the alignment, it was also the background color that didn't "feel" very right to me... but I grant you I didn't make any stylistic tests to see how it'd look so I might have been hasty in my revert. Turn it slim again and I won't object, especially since you guys are in the majority. ;-) Aris Katsaris 22:15, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I fixed up the alignment a bit on the current "slim" version. Of course, the background color of left column can be changed if you think that might look better. siroχo 22:39, Aug 21, 2004 (UTC)

Hello, I believe that the "Hierarchy of Foreignness" should be in the "concept" section of this graph. It is the concept related to Varelse and Raman. 72.53.96.54 (talk) 07:02, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removing anchors and group

[edit]

Should links to anchors of List of Ender's Game characters be removed, as well as the seemingly unnecessary group "Ender's Game series", as has been done in this edit? Ollieinc (talk) 05:54, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No I don't think so. You not just removing anchors of List of Ender's Game characters. Your removing alot of good pages that are on the main characters listed. The Ender page is still listed, so it's not going to make things any shorter or different. I think it should stay as it is.--- ARTEST4ECHO (talk) 12:13, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there's no sense in including multiple consecutive links to the same page. Only the characters notable enough to have their own article should be included. —Flax5 12:48, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I totally disagree. First, not all the stuff he is removing is to the same page. Second, the links go to different sections. Third, it's information that a person might want, i.e. who are the charatures. Lastly, it's not hurting anything. There is no space saving, there is nothing gained by removing the redirected pages.--- ARTEST4ECHO (talk) 14:22, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I only removed pages that redirect to (a section on) List of Ender's Game characters. Ollieinc (talk) 04:41, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely should be removed. This increases the size of the navbox massively, all for links to the same article. Same with the comics. See WP:EXISTING. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:23, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Subgroups

[edit]

Small idea for this navigational box (and also for the part in the box with all works of Orson Scott Card):

Adding subgroups, results:
Regarding the layout of navigational boxes with subgroups: is it possible to have alternating background at all times? Thus at each increase or decrease of the indent? Is this already brought up, discussed, ... ? Clockworkske (talk) 15:26, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
