Talk:Sahel Africa
Appearance
I find it hard to find rainfall data for the Sahel "belt". Homepages I've looked at usually covers West-Africa or the western part of the Sahel, and is usually conserned with the deviation from the normal rather than stating what the normal is.
The 150-500 mm numbers I found at http://www.1uptravel.com/country-guide-study/sudan/sudan158.html
Although it is not a very scientific source, the numbers correlates with my general impression.
According to this page: http://web.idrc.ca/en/ev-43109-201-1-DO_TOPIC.html
it should be 60-150 mm and according to this file: http://ag.arizona.edu/OALS/oals/alrsgp/ARL565/Desertificationlec.pdf
it should be between 200 and 400 mm. --dittaeva
