Data quoted from http://www.aviation.ru/Mya/#50 by the owner of aviation.ru

The article to which you have linked mentions only 1960, not 1957, but does not give a clear indication whether this refers to the original M-50 flight or the M-52 version. http://www.aerospaceweb.org/aircraft/bomber/m50/ suggests 27th October 1959. Could we clear this up? The article at present contradicts itself. Drutt (talk) 12:58, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hoax?

[edit]

In describing an Aviation Week article on Soviet nuclear-powered aircraft, this article states: "In reality, however, the article was a hoax." Really? This is established as fact? Citation? Given the difficulty in ascertaining what the Soviets were doing during the Cold War, there is no doubt that speculation might have carried the day with respect to this article, but a hoax implies that the magazine was intentionally attempting to deceive people. Doubt a reputable publication like Aviation Week would do that.

Second that. 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:247F:611:3DDB:4940 (talk) 14:12, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
