Windows OS[edit]
Can someone provide more information about the fact that the line "runs on Microsoft's Windows operating system"? I can't find any reference to this on the web. Do the trains run Windows, or the back end system? Without providing a reference or any extra detail, it seems the contributor is just trying to imply that Microsoft is reponsible the line's delayed opening and white elephant reputation. --JackSeoul 04:27, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Well, I removed the line about running on Windows. Feel free to add it back, but if you do please provide a reference to support the claim. --JackSeoul 07:00, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
trimmed out unsourced edit[edit]
This has been removed from the article as no sources were cited:
A station will be built between HarbourFront and Outram Park. Current working name is Keppel.

- This is back, now as "Bukit Purmei". Are there any sources at all for this, aside from the obvious gap in the numbering scheme? Jpatokal (talk) 16:59, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- None. Needs to be removed. - oahiyeel talk 14:09, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- Done. Jpatokal (talk) 03:09, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- I've put Bukit Purmei MRT Station up for AfD. Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bukit Purmei MRT Station - oahiyeel talk 19:17, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Stations with the announcement "Please do not lean against the doors"[edit]
Only 4 out of 16 stations have the announcement "Please do not lean against the doors".
Station | Date | Notes |
---|---|---|
NE4 Chinatown | Interchange with the Downtown Line | |
NE7 Little India | ||
NE10 Potong Pasir | Next station after NE11 Woodleigh (Opened on 20 June 2011) | |
NE14 Hougang | Next station after NE15 Buangkok (Opened on 15 January 2006) |
New announcements on 2019[edit]
On 2 August 2019, there was a new announcement and new VPIS programming ride from NE12 Serangoon to NE13 Kovan and from NE14 Hougang to NE13 Kovan.
On 14 September 2019, there was a new announcement ride from NE8 Farrer Park to NE9 Boon Keng and from NE10 Potong Pasir to NE9 Boon Keng.
Station coding mistake[edit]
The station code was supposed to be NE11 Woodleigh, not NE10 Woodleigh. Editingcreate123 (talk) 01:36, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Currency conversions wrong[edit]
associated tunnels were awarded for a total of S$2.8 billion (US$1.9 billion). Sixteen more contracts related to electrical and mechanical work were awarded for a total of S$1 billion (US$3.5 billion). The Singapore Dollar is worth about USD 0.75, so neither of these conversions looks correct. Tetsuo (talk) 13:12, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
- The conversions are done by Template:ToUSD and look correct to me. Remember these were the rates in 1997 and 1995, not today. GA-RT-22 (talk) 15:01, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
5 billion?[edit]
Regarding this revert: [1] with edit summary "The citation for the figure is in the body of the article". I can't find any place in the article where it says the line was completed at a cost of 5 billion. Can you point this out? I can't find a completion cost anywhere. The only place 5 billion is mentioned is "It was projected to cost S$5 billion (US$3.5 billion)". GA-RT-22 (talk) 19:26, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
