I deleted this:

Rabbenu is a title given to certain Rabbinic leaders of the middle ages. These include Rabbenu Gershom and Rabbenu Chananel. Its literal meaning is our teacher.

I have no objection to the content, but Wikipedia is NOT a dictionary (learn to the contrary). Whatever valuable conent is here should be incorporated into the article on rabbis. Slrubenstein

What are the considerations under which someone is given the title "Rabbenu"? Is it different from just being a rabbi? If there is a difference, then this would be a validly separate entry. --The Cunctator

No difference. It just means "our rabbi" Danny

This has been redirected and merged into Rabbi, and should be dealt with there.
