[edit]

I have removed Mozart's name from the list seeing as there were no pieces under it and so his name is somewhat pointless as an appearance if there are no pieces to name. Hydraton31 17:46, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed:

because these pieces are not by Bach, and because they are widely considered to be teaching pieces rather than actual repertoire.

Organ concerti

[edit]

Are there many concerti for organ and orchestra? I can't name any besides Max Baumann's concerto for organ, timpani and strings. Dmetric 21:37, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the Poulenc Concerto (which was, according to Jean Françaix, a commission that was first offered to him and then passed on to Poulenc), as well as the Jean-Thierry Boisseau Concerto. There are many others! Musikfabrik 23:28, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV issues concerning the definition used on this page

[edit]

A discussion on Talk:List of major opera composers concerning NPOV issues is currently underway and the definition used in this article has been cited because it is not sourced and is not clear as to exactly the criteria should be for inclusion. Since this discussion is escalating, I'm rewriting this definition using less selective criteria. I've also added John Henderson's excellent book of Organ composers as the main reference and plan on adding Gilles Cantegrel's Organ repertoire book. Between the two of these references, all of the names currently on this list can be sourced and should therefore be considered suitable candidates for this list. NPOV problems

[edit]

There are concerns about the selection procedures used to make this list. The list may not be neutral or sufficiently representative. This page is also potential evidence in an NPOV dispute elsewhere. Please do not edit the main page until issues have been discussed on this talk page. --Folantin 08:41, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If the list survives deletion votes, what if until such time as a fully NPOV list can be created, what about the composers on this are used:
