Does 213.253.40.68 know just how far Kensal Green, Willesden, Harlesde and Brondesbury are from Croydon and Purley? The whole of London is inbetween as these four places are in North London and Purley is near the boundary line between South London and Surrey to which both Croydon and Purley once belonged. I know this is Li'le Ole England but we aren' t that small. I shall have to remove your entry re nearest places because it just isn' t true.

Thank you for removing the items. I am sorry but I have also reinstated the Greater London Borough bit, but as I have pointed out in the Talk Page for Croydon, there is a Website which shows in its Chronology that the original London Council has been replaced by Act of Parliament of 1963 with Greater London. The Greater London Council (GLC) thus came into being. It isn' t just a bit of boasting on my part. See the following Website www.rootsweb.com/~engmdx/chronology.html

I am sorry to be bearer of bad news

Dieter
