It seems that the Golden Horse is used both for the film festival and the Awards ceremony (like the Oscars) which follow the festival. Have re-directed the article. - Mandel

"Under current regulations, every film made primarily in a Chinese language, produced outside the People's Republic of China, is eligible for the Awards"? I read from the official website that "只要是華語發音的影片(包括國語、粵語、台語、上海話…等)均可報名參加競賽。" [as long as the movie is a Chinese-speaking movie (including Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Shanghainese etc), it's eligible for the competition. <- bad translation ;p ] . something's wrong? --Yacht 18:17, Mar 25, 2004 (UTC)

-- Not very sure myself, but I have heard (a rumor?) that a film officially produced in China (as producer) is not eligible for the competition (politics??). If this is wrong, the article could be changed accordingly...I have a niggling feeling that it is in the unofficial books of the competition (which means my contribution isn't that accurate after all).

Maybe someone can enlighten?

Otherwise the article can be amended to:

"every film made primarily in a Chinese language is eligible for the Awards. An artiste from the People's Republic of China can also be eligible, as in Best Actor Xia Yu 夏雨 (1996) and Best Actress Qin Hailu 秦海璐 (2001)." - Mandel Apr 15, 2004

Nomenclature

[edit]

Was the name come from Quemoy and Matsu? — Instantnood 02:12, Mar 25, 2005 (UTC)

Got it now. [1] Perhaps we can add this to the article. — Instantnood 11:45, Mar 26, 2005 (UTC)

Umm...at present much of the info seemed like copyvio - cut and hacked from elsewhere? 165.21.154.113 14:07, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Split?

[edit]

Maybe this should be split into Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards and Golden Horse Awards? Snargle 00:50, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in agreement. Perhaps make Golden Horse Film Festival the main article of Golden Horse Awards because the festival itself is a separate event leading up to the award ceremony. Arsonal (talk) 15:00, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

The list is extremely long and the content may not be very relevant. It needs some heavy editing and also needs to be kept up to date anyway. Kerowyn 07:45, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Other winner categories

[edit]

Best director, best (supporting) actor and actress, these winners should be listed too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.101.223.152 (talk) 09:13, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
