Where's the biography?

[edit]

This is easily the most imbalanced article I have read on wikipedia. Parenti is a widely respected scholar, though certainly far left of the mainstream. Just for curiosity sake, I compared this article to that of Rush Limbaugh. The criticism of Limbaugh's views represents a tiny portion of the content, while the rest is naturally biographical. This article is just childish backstabbing by those who disagree with Parenti's politics.

Marxist?

[edit]

A quick search of "'Michael Parenti' 'Marxist'" did not provide RS descriptions of this subject as Marxist. The only published source I found that did is this, but I will not use CounterPunch to support this kind of ideological statement. I notice that this same question came up in 2006 on this talk page and no RS or self-description was provided in that discussion.

It seems that Parenti is sympathetic to quite a few figures who themselves embraced Marxism, but it would be OR to make the leap to describing Parenti himself as Marxist. In the current version of the page, I see he campaigned as a democratic socialist.

Agreed. It should be reverted.--C.J. Griffin (talk) 23:32, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. I'd remove the Marxist writers tag too, as that's the bit that's uncited now, rather than that he's American. BobFromBrockley (talk) 08:16, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
